     Kindergarten Visits Davis IGA

 

 


As part of our food unit Around the Table, the kindergarten classes visited the Davis IGA.  Mr. Grant, from the IGA, has put this wonderful trip together for us for the past few years.

We were greeted by John, the Greengrocer, Amy,
and a HUGE chicken!



Mr. Grant showed us around behind the scenes of the market.
We learned where our produce comes from, how it grows,
and why it has special labels. 
Did you know all produce is marked with its country of origin?



We even got to scan some groceries.


Mr. Grant gave us bags of goodies, including pins, apples, baby bananas, activity books, and information for our parents!

We can't wait to go shopping there!
