Third graders studied Native American history through a variety of lessons and activities.

They enjoyed a visit to The Swift House where Marge McAvoy presented information about local Native Americans and displayed many interesting artifacts.

The children learned the basic
steps of weaving and created their
own “looms,” weaving beautiful
pieces of art.

At The Institute for American Indian Studies, third graders participated in the Indians of the Woodlands program, which included a visit to the village.
