Vacation Dates: School will be closed on the following days:
President – Candie Fredritz: Candie has a son who is entering the second grade and will be welcoming a new baby to the family this winter. This is her second year serving on the PTO. Vice-President – Gwynne Seufert: Gwynne has a daughter entering second grade and a son who is entering first grade. This is Gwynne’s second year on the PTO. Treasurer – Gabriele Kartchner: The PTO would like to welcome Gaby to her new position as Treasurer to the board. Gaby has two children, Mia who is entering the 5th grade and Dylan who is a sophomore at New Milford High School. Secretary – Kathy Nadire: Kathy has a daughter who graduated KCS in 2006 and twin boys that will be entering the 8th grade this year. Kathy has served on the PTO for the past several years.
Open House: The annual KCS Open House will be on Tuesday, September 21st from 7-8pm. At the Open House you will meet with your child's teachers, see their classrooms and learn more about the school year. Picture Day: Thursday, September 30th is Picture Day for KCS. Information packets will be coming home in the next few weeks. Lunch Duty: Help is needed this school year in the cafeteria. The hours are approximately from 11-1pm. PTO School Store: The PTO operates a school store out of the PTO office which is across from the art room. The store features a wide range of school supplies including pencils, erasers, magnets, notebooks, folders, pencil sharpeners and much more. The store also has Student Homework Assignment Books. An email will go out to families as soon as possible on the days and times that the school store will be open. Anyone interested in volunteering some of their time is asked to contact Candie at 860-927-4108 or email at kcspto@charter.net. Box Tops 4 Education: The PTO would like to remind students and their families to continue to collect Box Tops. Each box top is worth 10¢ and the proceeds go to the Kent Center School Scholarship Fund. Box Tops may be found on a variety of products such as General Mill’s, Ziploc and Kleenex. If you are a savvy online shopper by going through www.boxtops4education you can earn cash back for our school. Please also check out www.boxtops4education.com for more ways to save.
