Kent Center School is located just southwest of the town center (the intersection of Routes 7 and 341). Arriving at the center of Kent, proceed west on Route 341 to Elizabeth Street. Morning Star Rest Home is on the corner. Turn onto Elizabeth Street and go .2 mile to the end of the street. Turn right onto Judd Avenue and Kent Center School is on the left.


Located in the northwestern corner of Connecticut, Kent Center School, the only public school in the town of Kent, is a district of one school. The town of Kent has approximately 3000 residents. Located directly on the Housatonic River, Kent Center School is a Pre-K through 8 school with approximately 282 students and twenty-seven teachers. Kent is part of the six-town Region One School district. Upon graduation from Kent Center School, students may continue their education at Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village, which is 20 miles north of Kent. Directly across the Housatonic River from Kent Center School is the Kent School, an independent private co-educational college preparatory school, one of three independent private high schools located in Kent. Graduates of Kent Center School have also attended these and other private schools in the region.



Students should be in their homerooms no later than 8:45am. Students arriving after that time will be considered tardy. The school day ends at 3:05pm.


The Kent Center office is open from 8:00am to 4:00 pm. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00am to 3:30pm on Fridays.


The cafeteria is open each morning Monday - Friday at 8:25am. Students may purchase lunch tickets on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

The price of lunch is $2 (Kdg - 3rd), $2.25 (4th - 8th) and $2.50 (Adult). À la carte items such as salad, soup, yogurt, and sandwiches are also available depending upon the time of year.

Reduced price and free lunches are available to families who fall within the guidelines. Forms will be sent home with students and they should be returned to the office.


Regional school closing announcements and late openings will be made by WTIC (1080 AM), WINE (95.1 AM), WRKI I-95 FM (95.1 FM) and WKZE (1020 AM or 98.1 FM), WZBG, WQQQ (103.3 FM), WSBS, WDAQ/WLAD (98.3 FM), WTNH-TV (Chl 8), WFSB-TV (Chl 3), WVIT-NBC30 (Chl 6). The announcement is usually listed as "Regional School District #1."

If Kent Center School opens late, there will be a
90 minute delay. Students are to be in their homerooms no later than 10:15am. Students arriving after that time will be considered tardy.

Early dismissal will be at 1:00pm, except in an emergency situation.
